As such, it is vital that we, as a Louisiana oilfield company, have properly trained personnel starting from the ground level to ensure that safety, skill, and efficiency are the pillars on which this industry stands. Thus, Moncla has made a large and continuing investment into the growth of our company, and the oil and gas industry as a whole.
Established in 2006 and named U-of-Krewe, Moncla’s Training Rig is designed for individuals with no oilfield experience. Our students, younger or older, participate in a three week, blended curriculum of classroom lecture and hands-on, practical training to prepare them for the work our industry has to offer. Led by our seasoned trainer, and centered on the 4000ft well we have onsite specifically designed for training, U-of-Krewe is ideal for inexperienced workers to acquire the skills and knowledge needed in our industry. These skills are critical to the development of the trainee into an experienced employee. These topics include, but are not limited to:
- Rig Operations
- OSHA Regulations
- Lifting and Rigging Safety
- IADC RigPass
- H2S – Hydrogen Sulfide and Respiratory Protection
- Medic First Aid
Upon completion of and graduation from U-of-Krewe, students are placed into entry level oilfield positions and assigned a mentor to continue their evolution into the future of the oil and gas industry.
